Hi, I am Ashish Mathur - a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh (India). I am basically an end-user computer software enthusiast. By "end-user computer software", i imply software which a layman (as against a software developer) uses in his day to day work. Considering our (and more specifically mine) average working day, the two software packages which i use most often are Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word. I take a keen interest in understanding how to use these more effectively and efficiently.
Initially my interest in these two software stemmed from the fact that i wanted to save time in solving problems especially where the deadlines were demanding. To quote certain examples here, in MS Word i learnt how to automate the process of creating a "Table of Contents" and in Excel, i learnt how to extract meaningful data from a long list by using the Vlookup function.
As time passed by and my knowledge of Word and Excel improved, so did my interest and understanding of Excel. In a nutshell, i am an Excel Enthusiast. My interest in Excel led me to kearn more and more and with passage of time, i started helping users with their Excel queries.
Microsoft recognised the work i did and awarded me the title of "Most Valuable Professional" (MVP) title in 2003. To know more about the MVP programme, please click here.
Regards,
Ashish Mathur
